Nomadic Studio’s Black Public Radio (2010)

The Nomadic Studio was a large scale exhibition with satellite programs throughout the city, presented at the DePaul University Art Museum in the summer and fall of 2010 and organized by Stockyard Institute. The project exposed a steady collective of regional thinkers, community artists, radical pedagogues, youth activists, local innovators, self-educated producers and nomadic teachers in the Chicago area. These contributors function outside the grid for reasons that run from oppositions to organized institutions and neo liberal positions and limited access to structures to those who have been in a self imposed exile from accepted or recognized practices. This project was to find the mobile, provisional spaces of the streets, parks, and sanctuaries in a host of creative and experimental groups and space.
